Special Educational Needs (SEN) Report
Special Educational Needs at Geddington C of E Primary School
At Geddington School we are proud of our inclusive ethos. We are committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive and respectful environment where every child is valued and supported to achieve their full potential. We celebrate diversity and recognise the unique strengths, backgrounds, experiences and needs of all members of our school community. We believe that every pupil has the right to access a high-quality education, participate fully in school life, and feel safe, respected and included.
Provision
Through strong partnerships with families, staff and external agencies, we work to remove barriers to learning and provide the support needed for all pupils to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.
Miss Robinson is our SENCO and she closely monitors how all our children with SEN and disabilities are progressing through our Assess, Plan, Do, Review approach. Our aim is that children with SEN make sustained progress. This is achieved through the use of Individual Education Plans where appropriate, regular meetings with teachers and parents, provision of specialist resources, accessing specialist support and targeted interventions that meet a child’s individual needs .We work to make reasonable adjustments which enable children with SEN and/or disabilities to be fully included in all school activities including after school clubs, trips and school shows/productions.
Please see our SEND information report for more information regarding how we work with families to support children with special educational needs and disabilities .
Full details of our SEND provision can be found in our inclusion policy on the school policies webpage and the SEND local offer for North Northamptonshire can be accessed through the link below.
